After Henry goes to bed David and I often go over the funny things Henry does and says. It's time to record a few before we forget.
- When Henry is being accomodating he will often respond: "Oh, sure!" very enthusiastically. If only that was always his response to our requests.
- When he likes something or does something cool he says "Awesome!" Or "so awesome!" and sometimes "cool"
- This is our conversasion every night:
Me: "Henry, it's time to go to bed."
H-dog: "No. Henry awake."
- Often when I ask Henry to do something or point something obvious he'll say, "Oh yeah. Sorry, Mama. Ha silly Henry" or some variation. But the word Sorry is usually used. One day he'll learn to say sorry voluntarily when he actually needs to. He's been very reluctant to apologize when he gets too physical with us or his friends...which is becoming more frequent. Is this a boy thing?
- I've heard Henry count to 10 while he's playing, with maybe only one or 2 mistakes. But he won't do it for us when we ask or he'll count to 3 and then turn silly.
- Henry loves to sing Happy Birthday. Sometimes it's the song of choice at bedtime. He has also been singing in his crib when he wakes up from his nap. Usually made up songs.
- When he says the word small his voice is higher pitched and he says the s through his nose even though he can make the s sound in other words. It's adorable.
- Henry is trying to master the art of delaying bedtime. He runs away, takes his time choosing a book, begs to rock by himself in his chair, asks for water, protests saying a prayer, etc. As annoying as it can be its kind of cute how creative he can be sometimes.
- Every racecare's name is Lightning McQueen. Often it sounds like he's saying white cream.
- Henry's friend Annie taught him how to use a monster voice. Now he uses it all the time.
- The other day we were driving in the car and Henry randomly started talking about Santa Clause. We laughed pretty hard. Henry caught on and continued to make comments about Santa to see if he could make us laugh again. He's playing to his crowd. He's so like his dad.
- Henry will often see things far away in the distance that we don't noticed right away. Usually something associated with racecars or train tracks. Tonight it was the those signal gates on a train track off in the distance...and it was dark out. What's funny about this is often when we are pointing out something that's right in front of him he doesn't see it.
- Henry loves to run. He and daddy run circles around the house most evenings. When asked what game he wants to play he usually answers, "run".
